Wolverhampton University – Case Study

Universities often use Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) as a way to provide access to all resources needed throughout the year to all students. These allow students to view important Word or PDF documents relating to their course and submit their work for feedback and assessment.

This method works for the majority of students, but it can be easy for those who are unable to access the system to fall behind.

Sync | Guide Dogs UK

Sync has teamed up with Guide Dogs to support the charity’s ‘Tech for All’ scheme, a programme aimed at improving the wellbeing and autonomy of children living with visual impairments through assistive technology. Tech for All provides free assistive technology to children with a vision impairment aged 3 – 18 in the UK. The devices come with accessibility features built-in, perfect for use outside of the classroom.

Sync | Oasis Academy Skinner Street

This is the story of Oasis Academy Skinner Street following the integration of iPad throughout the academy. The Oasis Horizons project entails deploying iPad into every Oasis academy throughout the trust on a 1:1 scale – where each current and future pupil, and their teachers and support staff, will be provided with an iPad to give them access to enhanced online learning. Students and teachers will be able to use the device together in lessons to bring subjects to life and participate in shared learning.
